What You Should Be Wearing
If you watch a NHL game in person or on TV, the players always look like they are wearing a lot of clothing and pads. You may not understand what all of the items are used for, or what they are made of. What a non-hockey player refers to as a hockey jersey, is known to the players as a hockey sweater. These sweaters are decorated a specific way to designate which team a player is on, and has a number and the last name of the player on the back. The captain of the hockey team with have a "C" on the front of his jersey. These sweaters are usually made out of materials such as polyester that are tough and can withstand incredible amounts of grabbing, ripping, falling, pulling and various other types of abuse from the players.
